Training Agenda

Module 1: Foundations of Generative AI & Prompting

Objective: Understand the mechanics of GenAI systems and how prompting plays a central role.

  • What is Generative AI? (LLMs, transformers, how models predict text)
  • Common GenAI tools: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Claude
  • What is a "prompt"? Anatomy of a prompt
  • Introduction to key prompting variables: role, task, specificity, temperature

Hands-on (15 min): 🔧 Fix This Prompt: Take a vague or broken prompt and iteratively improve it for clarity and results (e.g., "Write me something interesting" → role/task/specific improvements).

Module 2: Prompt Patterns & Techniques

Objective: Learn repeatable prompting structures to get consistent and quality outputs.

  • Foundational patterns: Role + Task + Format + Constraints
  • Chain-of-thought prompting
  • Step-by-step zero-shot vs. few-shot prompting
  • Step-by-step CoT vs. ToT prompting
  • Prompt modifiers: tone, length, depth, persona

Hands-on (15 min): 🔧 Pattern Practice: Convert a generic task (e.g., "Explain blockchain") into 3 versions: Beginner explainer, Debate format, Visual summary.

Module 3: Smart Prompting for Learning & Creativity

Objective: Apply prompts to support knowledge work, education, and ideation.

  • Prompts for teaching, summarizing, revising
  • Creative prompt design: storytelling, ideation, brainstorming
  • Templates: "Explain like I'm 12," "Write both sides," "Give me 3 perspectives"
  • Using AI for second-brain workflows (e.g., study aids, creative sessions)

Hands-on (15 min): 🔧 Design a Smart Prompt Pack: Create 3 prompts you can use for learning or content generation.

Module 4: Tool-Specific Prompt Engineering

Objective: Understand how prompting changes depending on the tool or platform used.

  • Differences in model behavior: ChatGPT vs. Claude vs. Notion AI
  • Prompting for productivity tools (Canva AI, Office Copilot)
  • Adjusting for character limits, interface styles, or context memory
  • Integrating prompts into workflows: docs, slides, spreadsheets, dashboards

Hands-on (15 min): 🔧 Platform Adaptation: Take the same prompt idea and test/adapt it across two tools (e.g., ChatGPT vs. Gemini).

Module 5: Applied Prompt Engineering – Build Without Code

Objective: Use prompting to create lightweight tools and automate workflows.

  • Vibe Coding mindset: logic-first, syntax-light
  • Prompts as interface: simulate calculators, forms, assistants
  • Examples: resume helper, writing assistant, lesson plan generator
  • Layering prompts for multi-step tasks (e.g., ask > check > revise)

Hands-on (15 min): 🔧 Prompt Tool Prototype: Use prompts to simulate a no-code tool (e.g., habit builder, vocabulary assistant) in ChatGPT.

Module 6: Showcase, Feedback & Next Steps

Objective: Share your work, get feedback, and plan how to continue developing as a prompt engineer.

  • Showcase: Present your favorite prompt or micro-tool
  • Group feedback and peer learning
  • Where to go next: building a prompt portfolio
  • Responsible prompting: avoiding hallucinations, bias, misuse
  • Prompt Engineering career paths & certifications

Hands-on (15 min): 🔧 Your Prompt Portfolio: Document your top 2 prompts from the course with title, use case, and output sample.
